Raspberry Barrel Aged Balsamic Vinegar
Sweet, tart and rich! Glaze grilled chicken with this vinegar or serve it over Dark Chocolate Linguine, vanilla ice cream and fresh berries!
True balsamic vinegar is made from a reduction of pressed Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes. The resulting thick syrup, called mosto cotto in Italian, is subsequently aged for a minimum of 12 years in a battery of seven barrels of successively smaller sizes. The casks are made of different woods like chestnut, acacia, cherry, oak, mulberry, ash, and, in the past, juniper. True balsamic vinegar is rich, glossy, deep brown in color and has a complex flavor that balances the natural sweet and sour elements of the cooked grape juice with hints of wood from the casks.
I use it for many things, from spinach salad, to a topping on vanilla ice cream. Great flavor!
We love the raspberry vinegar for spinach/raspberry/kiwi salads and also as a low calorie dressing with Costco’s sweet kale salad. It is so flavorful. We have moved to California from Washington, but I still order the OMG! Products even though I can’t get them locally anymore.
We first picked this up while on vacation in Seattle. It has become our family favorite that we eat with nearly anything! Happily ordered more and loved how quickly it came. Thank you!
My husband uses this raspberry balsamic vinegar on fresh fruit salads and serves them with breakfast. It’s really delicious. Try it!
I first tried these barrel aged vinegars at the Astoria Wine & Seafood Festival quite a number of years ago, and have been a Big Fan ever since! You've aptly named your company "OMG!" , because that's exactly what I said the first time I tried it! It is Sooooo Good! I won't use any other dressing on my salads here at home, and I've even purchased small containers so I can sneek it into restaurants on occasion. Sssshhh! :-D It's wonderful as a bread dip, drizzled over hard cheeses and meats, fresh fruit. My one and Only suggestion ... which has absolutely Nothing to do with the product itself, how do you improve on perfection?
... I wish the 12.7oz bottles were shorter, as we have to lay it down on it's side in the refrigerator. (And we have a brand new fridge) Thank you.
